Mary Marr

Mary Marr joined the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in April 2014 as a Senior Instructional Developer and she is also an adjunct faculty member in the School of Education. Within the Walker Center for Teaching and Learning her primary role is supporting faculty in fulfilling UTC's mission of excellence in instruction.

 

Mary enjoys working with faculty on specific areas of interest, including using technology to enhance student engagement with content. She is involved with faculty across campus, from New Faculty and Adjunct Faculty Orientation, SGID sessions, and one-on-one teaching consultations. She is interested in empathic teaching and deeper learning.

Heather Boyd

Heather Boyd is the Learning Technology Specialist at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a Ph.D. student at the School of Information Science and Learning Technologies at the University of Missouri. With a Master's degree in Learning, Design, and Technology from the University of Georgia, Heather has a strong background in online course design and delivery as well as the implementation of technology in a variety of teaching and learning contexts. Her research interests center around designing inclusive and accessible technology-driven learning environments, especially for neurodivergent and disabled populations. Heather seeks to understand how psychological constructs such as self-efficacy, relatedness, and motivation may be impacted by the intentional use of learning experience design, as well as the integration of various technologies and social equity principles.
